Instructions

Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay.

Did you know that written text can also be art? Hence, I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like. Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on this page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. However, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 10:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.

On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although I am primarily looking a lot at the content, I will also be looking upon your grammar as well. Aim for grammatical accuracy. Nonetheless, have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

We are almost at the end of the semester.  How do you plan on spending the rest of this semester?  What will you do?

  1. Time flies really fast. I really can't imagine that we only have few weeks to go. Long story short, I would like to hang out with my good friends and always talk and do something crazy with my best friend:)) They will still study in here next semester, so I'm not very sad. However, since I will go back to Japan and Taiwan during the summer, I can't meet them... But we will Skype and text often, so I expect that:) AND, I will try to study more. Maybe I won't lol. I will study for the finals and get good score.

  2. Since i landed to USA, i realized that everything will be different such as new people, new environment, new culture, and so on. I had such a good time in the last 3 months. Although, I made some good friends. They and I planned to take a road trip over California. We are going to see the nature and beauty of this country. I wish that it's going to run as i am expecting. I am really excited though.

  3. Thinking about the ending of this semester makes me a little sad but waiting.

On the one hand, I don't want this semester ends because I don't want to say goodbye with friendly friends here. I will miss you, Ms.May, and your class with a lot of fun and useful knowledge. Also, I will miss a time with cute Melody when we go to the library, have lunch together... How can I meet Helen, Juui, Khalid, Vitor, Ben... if this semester ends. It's so sad.

On the other hand, I count each day until the ending day of this semester because it will stop a chain of days that I have to wake up at 5:45 AM, leave home at 6:15 AM and get home around 7:00 PM. Also, I am waiting for the day I will take a driving test (hoping I will pass it at the first time) after this semester ends. I really driving myself to go anywhere I want. I made a list of places that I will visit after I get a license and have a car. Really excited when I think about this.
Furthermore, I will find a job to do in this summer and prepare for the fall semester.

  4. I am so happy that we are about to finish this semester because I am planning to go back home. I have started doing and preparing for the final exams. We are working on some of them and waiting for others. I am working on IELTS and TOEFL. I hope to get the required score before I go back home so that I can prepare myself from now to starting my masters program in fall. I do not want to study another semester in the ALP. I want to start masters program as soon as possible. All my academic future plans depends on IELTS or TOEFL score. Let's hope for the best. Thank you.
