Instructions
Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay.
Did you know that written text can also be art? Hence, I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like. Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on this page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. However, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 10:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.
On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although I am primarily looking a lot at the content, I will also be looking upon your grammar as well. Aim for grammatical accuracy. Nonetheless, have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

For me, the biggest regret that I have so far is I didn't study hard for Math. When I was an elementary 5th student, the class started to be harder. Since I was not good at math at all, I started to cheat when I study at home. I had so many workbooks to do,and show my parents, I decided to copy the answers in the back. So my math was terrible. kkkk I feel shame on me if I reconsider about this silly thing. So, if I would have a chance to timeslip, I would definitely go back to elementary 5th to study math very hard and in the honest way. And I swear that I will never, ever, do this stupid thing in the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteHaha, some people HATE math, whereas others enjoy it. It is understandable, so do not beat yourself over it. :)
DeleteWhen I first heard the topic, my mind was totally blank. Many things I done can be better now, but I don't really regret about what I was done because that was what I growth from. If I have to say some thing that must be the period in my first two years in my college life. I am the only child in the family as the most Chinese students in our generation, but my parents extremely love me. Before I attend to University, I never manage my time by myself and never regularly do housework. That year, I graduate from my high school and left my hometown as well as my parents, then started my college life all by my self. Not hard to imagine, my life was got into a mass: poor GPA , a trouble in my string orchestra, and bad mood. But I never feel terribly regret about that period, because from that time I knew how to manage my life independently and lent me an opportunity to learn many things that have great impact on my whole life. Still, if I have a chance, I will very happy to refresh that two years. That two years really cause me many difficult situations, especially for my GPA.
ReplyDeleteI like your perspective on life saying that we learn and grow from our mistakes. Please continue to have this positive outlook!
DeleteThe biggest regret for me is I did not study hard when I was prepared for go abroad study. I was planning go to Britain to study and I had studied at one of the Chinese international senior high school, which is British high school education. However, I was thought Britain was not a good place to let me study business. Therefore, I had given up and went to English school to study TOEFL. But I was not very hardworking and not very assiduous to pay all of my attention in the TOEFL during the first six months, and my TOEFL in the first test was super low. Moreover, I need apply for the 2014 Fall semester, and I does not have enough TOEFL score, therefore I had not time to study SAT anymore. Therefore, I lost the opportunity to apply top 50 university in the United States.
ReplyDeleteIf I had chance I will do super hardworking and very assiduous to study TOEFL during the first six months. I will never ever use make fun of my future.
What a good lesson!
DeleteFew years ago, I was looking for a car to buy. I visited different companies that sell second-hand cars. One day, I found a nice-looking car, and I liked its color which is black. I told my father about the car that I found and liked. He told me that he wants to see the car, for he knows cars and their problems very well. When he saw the car and investigated it, he suggested me not to buy it because it is not that much good and little expensive. I told him that I liked the car, and one of my friends suggested me to buy it even though my friend is not as aware of cars as my father. I bought the car and enjoyed it for few months. After that, it started making noisy sounds that shows there is something wrong with the car; besides, it was not easy to start it. I realized my father was right that the car was not in a good condition internally. If I could go back in time I would not waste my money on such car; moreover, I would buy a new car not a second-hand car.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good lesson! Do you still have this car?

ReplyDeleteAnyone did make mistakes at least one time in their life. I made mistakes a lot in my life, but actually I don't want to change them because I know it is impossible! However, if you give me a time machine, I will go back at age 18 when I was a junior student. I want to renew my student life. I will do better than I did, and maybe I will be in the US for studying earlier.
ReplyDeleteHaha, good point!
