Instructions

Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay.

Did you know that written text can also be art? Hence, I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like. Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on this page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. However, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 10:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.

On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although I am primarily looking a lot at the content, I will also be looking upon your grammar as well. Aim for grammatical accuracy. Nonetheless, have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

    2. Actually, Hạ Trắng, my vietnamese name is a name of song. Hạ means summer and Trắng means white.
The song was inspired from a strange dream of composer and a stable love of an elderly couple. A dream is about a white flower with fragrant, sweet aroma at summer noon. A love story is about a elderly couple live and die together. After a wife's death, a husband passed away because of missing her.

  9. Hello, My name is Khalid. I am from Saudi Arabia. I have been living in USA for about three weeks only. It is the first time for me to travel to another country. So it is my first time in USA. I studied English language and translation at English Department, Faculty of Languages and Translation, King Khalid University, Abha, KSA. I finished my BA in 2012. After that, I have worked as a teaching assistant at KKU for about 2 years. I have taught the four skills for the lower levels students. In addition to that, I was the head of the Activities Committee and a member of the Examination Committee at English Language Center, Mahala campus, KKU. I was so happy and I liked my job too much. Now, I am here at CSUF as an ALP student. So I became a student again. In fact, I liked to improve my English and to develop my accent as well as to adjust myself to the new country and culture. Because I have got an admission from CSUF for my master degree that is Master of Arts in Linguistics. So after finishing the ALP, my major in master is going to be Linguistics. Regarding living in USA, to be honest, I am not so happy with that. Maybe because of it is my first time to be in another country and being away from family and home. As it is said, "East or west home is the best". or it could be the differences in religion, language, culture ..etc. But with all of that I could manage and survive. So there are some customs here that I do not see and do not like to see in my country. On the other side, there are many things that I like here and would like to see in my country. Anyway, people are different colors and at the end of the day, we need each other in order to draw a beautiful colored life. That's it. By the way, I really enjoy your class, Mrs May. I like the way you speak and teach. Thank you so much.
